Centerpunch Humbucker

Centerpunch Humbucker

$ 139.95

Coil Split With No Volume Drop!

This one is very cool. Specially wound for mid range punch, this one will cut through a mix without being harsh. The coils are wound to different specs, but in such a way that they are still dead quiet. The slug side is 5.9k and perfect for coil splitting. At 9.8K total, these pickups are still extremely clear because of their special wind. They take gain very well, but still know how to clean up when they are asked.

All of our humbuckers follow the wiring diagram in the pics you see here

Made to Split

I replaced the only pickup in my guitar. It had a good sounding US made bridge humbucker. However, I wanted to add a coil split switch and decided to try Dylan’s Center Punch as it’s advertised to be made to split.

It’s got a lot of midrange and the single coil sounds good too. Obviously, not as chiming as a true single coil but when needed it does the job well.

Not bad but not great

I got these specifically because they were advertised to retain volume when coil-tapped, and because they’re mid-focused to cut through a mix. Honestly I can’t tell much of a difference between these and the stock import pickups. Coil-tap loses just as much volume, and I’m out 300 bucks.

Centerpunch Set in a Telecaster

These pickups are by far the most versatile pickups that I have ever played. The single coil split is as advertised, no volume drop. The humbucker though is where its at! Dylan also provided the Tele controls, with 500k pots. This setup is my personal favorite! I am very impressed.

My favorite from Dylan so far.

I bought one of these with a flat 6 for the neck for the first guitar I made. They pair perfectly, in my opinion. I later ordered the neck centerpunch for a second build. And just bought another centerpunch bridge to replace my 8 Ball (I'm finding ceramics just aren't my thing for lead playing). In split, the centerpunch is quite convincing; I love the neck centerpunch split for cleans. On my second build I used the PRS resistor mod for split coil and it works great, as well. I think this might be my favorite all around, general purpose, humbucker so far. For my high gain death metal playing, it's not quite the right fit. But blues, rock, 80's metal, jazzy stuff, or country, it does it. I find it to be smooth, but still cut, dynamic and open sounding. I'm getting great harmonics from it as well and it's not a high output pickup. I know I'll get more down the road.

Great clarity and drive

These sound great in single coil without sounding thin like normal coil splits, and the hum bucket is very clear!
