I have had this pickup a while put it in the bridge of a hard tail strat with hot 5s now in bridge of les paul studio with thruxton in the neck. OMG match made in Georgia! This pickup has clarity with plenty of muscle but not a one trick humbucker. Pinch harmonics fly out like I am John Sykes. If you like a medium to hot humbucker with clarity this would be for you!
I put these into my Gibson 2015 CM. The 61’ Zebra pickups that were in them were okay, but thin. These Super 8 pickups sound full, are hot, and handle a fair bit of grit while maintaining clarity. I’m very happy I made the swap.
These pickups have transformed my rather pedestrian Epiphone Les Paul into an absolute monster. I'm really having some fun with them. I'm playing through a Mesa Boogie Mark 5 Thirty Five and , good grief, it is a great rig.
The Super 8 sounds fantastic in my 2011 American Standard. I switched it to HSS and the Super 8 plays very well with the single coils. Great note clarity and punch. I got it with a flamed blue paisley cover and it looks fantastic.
