I just installed my loaded Highway 99 pickups. I bought them for my 77th birthday. I've been playing guitar since I was 14 years old. What an improvement in the overall sound of my '81 Squire MIJ Strat. The guitar doesn't just squawk and talk but now it SINGS WITH EXPRESSION TOO!
What an improvement in tone with greater midtones on all pickups and beautiful voicing on the bridge and neck pickups. I really appreciate the tone control for the bridge pickup. No more screeching ear busting tones.
I was blown away by the full sound of the middle pickup too. I might even use that sound for comping chords and solos.

I wanted a Strat bridge pickup that had a full tone and could drive the front of my amp. The stock pickup was a bit too thin so I tried this Hwy 99 and there is that sound! Clear and anything but thin. So good that I don't have to change the settings from my Tele to my Strat anymore. I play cleans and overdriven Country and Southern Rock...this pickup is it.
