A Hands-On Pickup Winding Workshop at Texas Toast Guitars The Week of October 12-16 2026

Don’t just install a set of pickups—build them yourself.

In this hands-on, one-day workshop, you’ll learn how Telecaster pickups are actually made while winding and assembling a complete bridge and neck pickup set of your own.

We’ll walk through the entire process, including:

• How a pickup works

• Choosing the proper materials and components

• Preparing and assembling the bobbins

• Working with extremely fine magnet wire

• Setting up and operating the winding machine

• Understanding wind direction, polarity, and output

• Installing lead wires and protecting the coil

• Testing and troubleshooting the finished pickups

• Wax potting and final assembly

This is a working workshop, not simply a demonstration. You will be involved in every step and leave with a completed set of Telecaster pickups that you wound yourself.

Not taking the guitar-building course? No problem. You can also attend for the day and participate in the pickup workshop by itself.
