Upgraded my tele pick ups first in December 2025 but did not replace the 3 way switch and column control at the same time. Decided to finally replace the later and immediately I noticed a huge difference in 60 cycle hum. The new switch and volume controls didn’t eliminate the hum but it’s definitely much less apparent for a quieter overall output when the guitar is not in play. The only way to eliminate the problem would be to use a noise gate. Overall, very impressed with my upgraded flat six pickups and new 3-way switch and volume controls. The only negative was the platinum plate in the 3-way volume control didn’t fit my pick guard and hole alignment. I just used the previous plate to ensure the fit. My next upgrade will be two PAF pick ups on my first electric guitar.
