Dog Ear P90

I bought this to replace the dogear P90 in my Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Les Paul Junior. This guitar came with the Epi Pro. It was decent, but I am a fan of Dylans and wanted to try one of his P90 pickups as an upgrade. This pickup is a BEAST! Role the tone down, and its deep and throaty. Role the tone up and it screams! On clean setting, its very clear and articulate, almost glassy. With some distortion, its just total rock and roll! I am terrible at pinch harmonics, and I can actually pull them off with this pickup - its crazy! A couple notes on the install. The two wire setup with cloth wrap makes the install work a breeze - I hate stripping wires. For my specific model, the actual install took a little work. The Epi pickup came with a plastic ring (like a spacer), I had to use it for the Dylan pickup install, but it doesnt fit flush around the base plate. With a little sanding on the inside of both ends and a little needle-nose plyer work on the base plate flanges, it was good to go. Fits great, looks great, sounds great - and its a steal at the current pricing. If I had paid another $50 for it, it would still have been worth the money. Thanks Dylan!

Stock Epiphone dogear P90 was OK at best, but over time I realized that it was much too boomy and had no high end sparkle or decent note definition. I specifically chose Dylan's P90 because of his specific focus on enhancing those attributes with this pickup, and I am not disappointed with the improvement. It has transformed this guitar, which is my Open G/slide guitar! My tone and volume controls are much more dynamic now too. Very pleased.

Best P90 I know of.

Compared to my Gibson P 90 this has an improved midrange bite and cuts through the mix much better.Much more satisfying to play!

I haven't played anything else since the Dog Ear was installed, it's perfect, I don't know what could be improved! I love this thing! Thanks Dylan, well done!
